We continue our call for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

The recent drone attacks on the Russian capital and the ongoing airstrikes on Kyiv are deeply troubling and concerning. As the Europe Peace Foundation, our commitment to ending the war between Russia and Ukraine remains steadfast. We strongly condemn any form of violence and emphasize the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to this conflict.

The reported drone attacks in Moscow, resulting in minor damage to buildings but thankfully no casualties, serve as a stark reminder of the escalating tensions and potential for further escalation. We express our condolences to the people affected by these attacks and commend the swift response of the Russian authorities in shooting down the drones.

Simultaneously, the loss of life in Kyiv due to Russia’s pre-dawn assault is tragic and unacceptable. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of the victim, and we reiterate our call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in order to prevent further human suffering.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s plea for military equipment, such as anti-aircraft systems, from South Korea reflects the pressing need for support in defending Ukraine’s sovereignty. The international community must respond to this call and provide the necessary assistance to Ukraine, not only in terms of military equipment but also through diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating the conflict.

We firmly believe that dialogue and negotiations are the only viable path toward a lasting and peaceful resolution. The Europe Peace Foundation urges all parties involved to prioritize diplomacy, engage in constructive dialogue, and work towards a comprehensive ceasefire. It is imperative that international organizations, regional powers, and the global community as a whole unite in their efforts to mediate and facilitate a peaceful resolution to this devastating conflict.

As the Europe Peace Foundation, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote peace, stability, and reconciliation in Europe. We call upon all stakeholders to exercise restraint, respect international law, and prioritize the well-being and safety of the people affected by this conflict. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter future, free from the devastating consequences of war.
