COP27 will take place in two weeks and world leaders will discuss plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and avoid a rise in the world’s temperature.
The current plans made by governments are not enough to protect the environment from further heatwaves, floods, and climate-related storms.
Without a commitment to reducing emissions and an understanding of the urgency of the situation, countries will not reach the planned goal of reaching a 1.5-degree celsius world temperature.
One of the objectives of the COP27 summit will be to discuss how poorer countries can be supported to gain strength in reducing emissions and receive funding.
We at the Europe Peace Foundation stand with the activists, leaders, individuals, and committees in the fight for environmental health.
