The recent civilian casualties in Ukraine from the ongoing war are a tragic reminder of the toll that conflict takes on innocent people.
The conflict has resulted in the displacement of over a million people and the deaths of thousands, including many civilians caught in the crossfire.
Recent reports of civilian casualties, including children, are particularly concerning and highlight the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
All parties to the conflict must take steps to protect civilians and adhere to international humanitarian law. The international community has a responsibility to support efforts to end the conflict and provide assistance to those affected by the violence.
Ultimately, lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, negotiations, and a commitment to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
We at the Europe Peace Foundation stand in solidarity with all those fighting for peace and justice. We stand for all those working towards the protection of human rights for Ukrainians and Russians.
