Tuesday, April 2, 2024 – We want to express our outrage and deep sorrow upon hearing that seven World Central Kitchen humanitarian workers were killed by the Israeli army’s multiple airstrikes in Deir al-Balah, Gaza. The killing of humanitarian aid workers is shameful.

More than 200 aid workers, mostly Palestinians, have been killed – the deadliest ever crisis for humanitarian workers. Humanitarian aid workers must be protected as they deliver aid that is desperately needed.

Over one million innocent Palestinians in Gaza are facing famine. Only an immediate ceasefire and an end to Israel’s siege can prevent famine and mass loss of life now.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening every day and the lives of more than two million Palestinians remain at extreme risk. This horrific violence must stop immediately. Enough is enough. This must stop now. “Urgent action is needed to protect civilians and prevent further staggering levels of human suffering. Civilians and the infrastructure they rely on – including hospitals, shelters, and schools – must be protected.

We urge the international community to come together to demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire by all parties in the conflict and lasting peace in Israel and Palestine.
