As the war in Russia continues many activists are coming under constant attack for speaking out against the war.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, 500 Russians have been punished under censorship laws.
Most recently a well-known humanitarian activist has been detained and is facing possible conviction.
The humanitarian activists facing jail time have dedicated their lives to realizing justice for abuses and human rights violations.
Now, these individuals are facing up to over a decade of jail time for speaking out against the war.
If there is no freedom to expression and if there is no freedom to support humanitarian relief, how can we put an end to violence, brutality, and war?
We at the Europe Peace recognize the importance of protecting the rights of humanitarian activists to bring relief, aid, and information to those in need.
We stand with all those who protest the war to achieve peace and end the war with Ukraine.
