A recent helicopter crash in Ukraine has left 18 dead.
The crash happened near a kindergarten near Kyiv.
Three children died in the crash, while 15 more are treated in a hospital nearby.
The ongoing violence in Ukraine and Russia has impacted the lives of civilians, and many of these individuals are children.
The effects of war and violence on children create long-term side effects: immediate stress responses and increased risk for specific mental disorders like PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
Moreover, the loss of a parent or the absence of a parent leaves a child in a precarious position.
To secure the safety and well-being of society, children must be a top priority.
Otherwise, the trauma becomes generational and a continuous cycle.
