Wednesday, May 31, 2017 Madrid. According to media report today morning a truck bomb killed at least 80 people and wounded hundreds in the Afghan capital´s diplomatic district. The authorities stated that the hit constitutes an unprecedented attack in its potency and size in comparison to previous explosions.
The explosion occurred in one of the busiest and more protected areas of the capital during the rush hours, resulting in a high toll of civilians’ casualties and thousands of wounded.
Multiple embassies settled in the area were blasted by the bomb but no diplomatic representatives were seriously hurt.
The Europe Peace Foundation ( EPF) condemns this horrifying act perpetrated against innocent civilians and expresses its repulsion to any kind of belligerent attempt that could produce another tragic chapter in the endless trait of violence and insecurity of the region.
The EPF encourages the government authorities and all the parts involved in the conflict to continue stressing all the diplomatic efforts toward peace initiatives toward the security and peace in the area.
