The protection of asylum seekers on the US-Mexican border is a humanitarian imperative that requires compassionate and comprehensive action.

Asylum seekers, who often flee persecution, violence, and other forms of harm in their home countries, have the right to seek asylum and have their claims fairly and efficiently processed in accordance with domestic and international law.

Ensuring the protection of their basic human rights, including access to safety, shelter, healthcare, and legal representation, is crucial in upholding the principles of compassion, fairness, and human dignity. It is essential to treat asylum seekers with respect, empathy, and sensitivity, and to provide them with appropriate support while their claims are being adjudicated.

This includes addressing the underlying causes of forced displacement, engaging in cooperative and collaborative efforts with other countries, and finding sustainable solutions that prioritize the well-being and safety of asylum seekers.

By upholding the rights of asylum seekers and providing them with adequate protection and assistance, we can demonstrate our commitment to human rights, compassion, and justice, while upholding the values of inclusivity and respect for all individuals, regardless of their immigration status.

We at the Europe Peace Foundation stand in solidarity with the asylum seekers attempting to cross into the United States.

We stand with the rights of all asylum seekers across the world.
