A recent tornado in Mississippi has destroyed entire homes and killed 25 people, and dozens of people were injured and the death toll could rise.
Mississippi is one of the poorest states in the United States which makes the road to recovery even more difficult for the people of the state.
Since the devastation struck, volunteers have swarmed to assist those in need with food and assistance.
In times of crisis, and in times of natural disasters, it is important to remember that immediate humanitarian action is the first step.
Climate change and natural disasters can affect any part of the world at any moment. The reaction is what we can control.
We must act with humanitarian action to support those in the most need.
We at the Europe Peace Foundation applaud all of the activists, volunteers, and aid going to those in need in Mississippi (and all over the world).
