The Europe Peace Foundation is deeply concerned about the reported actions of Russia’s Wagner group in relation to the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut. If true, such actions would exacerbate the ongoing conflict and potentially have far-reaching consequences, including the potential for a revolution within Russia itself.

We firmly believe that wars and conflicts impact all sides involved, particularly innocent civilians who bear the brunt of the suffering. It is the innocent people, irrespective of their nationality or allegiance, who experience the most profound effects of war. Their lives are disrupted, their safety compromised, and their basic human rights violated.

The Europe Peace Foundation stands firmly for peace, justice, and the protection of human rights. We advocate for an immediate ceasefire in order to alleviate the constant misery endured by the innocent people caught in the midst of this conflict. We recognize that only through dialogue, diplomacy, and a commitment to peaceful resolutions can lasting solutions be achieved.

It is imperative for all parties involved to prioritize the well-being of their citizens and work toward a peaceful and equitable resolution. We call upon the international community to support efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation, facilitating dialogue, and providing humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict.

The Europe Peace Foundation remains committed to promoting peace, fostering understanding, and advocating for the protection of innocent lives in all regions. We believe that only by addressing the underlying causes of conflict and prioritizing the welfare of all individuals involved can lasting peace be achieved.

We urge all stakeholders to seize this opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue and take immediate steps towards a ceasefire, as it is only through peace that the suffering of innocent people can be brought to an end and a better future can be forged for all.
