The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has resulted in a dire humanitarian crisis, with thousands of people displaced from their homes and seeking refuge elsewhere.

The conflict, which started in 2014, has caused widespread displacement, with many people forced to flee their homes due to violence, persecution, and the destruction of infrastructure.

As of 2023, it is estimated that there are over 2.7 million internally displaced persons in Ukraine, with thousands of them living in overcrowded temporary shelters or makeshift camps, lacking access to basic necessities such as food, water, shelter, and healthcare. The situation is especially dire for vulnerable groups, including women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, who face increased risks of exploitation, abuse, and neglect.

Humanitarian aid plays a crucial role in providing relief and assistance to those affected. Humanitarian aid is essential in addressing the immediate needs of displaced populations, including providing emergency food assistance, clean water, shelter, and medical care. It also plays a critical role in protecting the rights and well-being of vulnerable groups, such as providing psychosocial support, gender-based violence prevention, and access to education for children.
