Mr. KC urges an end to all forms of violence in Mali and calls for lasting peace
Statement
Friday, 8 May 2026 – Violence and conflict continue in many parts of Mali. According to the latest reports, attacks in the villages of Korikori and Gomossogou in the Mopti region of the country have left dozens of civilians killed, and several villagers are still reported missing. This is totally unacceptable, and there is an urgent need to stop all forms of violence in this nation.
Killing innocent civilians is despicable and inhumane. Attacks and killings are not the solution. To end all violence, conflicting parties must come onto the path of peace, which is the only solution. I urge all parties who are on the path of violence and wrongdoing to come forward for peace.
I also offer my mediation for peace between the Government and other parties who are involved in the unrest, as I wish to see peace and stability in Mali as soon as possible, in line with my Global Peace 2030 agenda.
