Statement by Mr. KC on the Disarmament Agreement in Gaza
Statement
Friday, 31 July 2026 – The reported agreement aimed at achieving the complete disarmament of Hamas in Gaza is a positive and important development. This step should have been taken much earlier, but it now offers renewed hope for an end to violence and the beginning of lasting peace in the Middle East.
For many years, the people of Gaza and Palestine have suffered attacks, killings, displacement and immense hardship. Israeli civilians have also endured violence, fear and insecurity. I have consistently raised my voice for peace and called for an end to armed conflict throughout the Middle East.
I urge Hamas and the Israeli leadership to ensure genuine and permanent disarmament, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, an end to all attacks and the protection of civilians.
No one wins through conflict, killings, the suffering of children, women or continuing instability. The Palestinian and Israeli peoples want and deserve peace. All parties involved in this conflict must listen to the wishes of their own people and choose dialogue and reconciliation over violence.
Palestinians and Israelis deserve peace, security and dignity. Under my Global Peace 2030 Initiative, I remain ready to support mediation and lasting peace talks between Israel and Palestine.
