KC Calls for All Parties in Burkina Faso to Come to the Peace Table
Statement
6 November 2026 — The conflict in Burkina Faso has continued for too many years. Civilians have been killed, homes destroyed and families forced to leave everything behind. What has this suffering solved? The people need peace, and the country needs development.
I have repeatedly called on all parties involved in the violence to stop the attacks, leave the path of violence and come to the peace table. Today, I make that appeal again. No demand or disagreement can justify killing civilians or driving people from their homes. This suffering must end.
Whatever your demands, respect the people. No one is above them or their wish to live in peace. Listen to the families who have lost loved ones, the children whose education has been interrupted and the young people who want a future. Their lives must come before the ambitions of anyone carrying arms.
This violence must become part of Burkina Faso’s history, rather than its future. Through my personal Global Peace 2030 initiative, I am ready to help bring the parties together and lead dialogue and mediation efforts if they agree. Lasting peace requires a willingness to listen, resolve differences and honour commitments.
My wish is to see Burkina Faso move towards lasting peace, stability and development. As part of Global Peace 2030, I hope the country can soon take the steps towards a Declaration of Burkina Faso as a Peaceful Nation-a commitment reflected in the daily lives of its people.
