Monday 7th October  2024 – Today, Monday, October 7, marks the one-year anniversary of the Hamas attacks in Israel. Individuals throughout Israel and around the globe are commemorating the events of October 7 from the previous year.

Since October 2023, Israeli military actions have resulted in the deaths of at least 41,909 individuals and injuries to 97,303 in Gaza. In Israel, the Hamas-led assaults on October 7 resulted in a minimum of 1,139 fatalities, with over 200 individuals taken hostage.

A year later, the humanitarian conditions in Gaza remain dire. The ongoing conflict has led to the displacement of 1.9 million residents in the region.

We once again urge for an immediate ceasefire in both Gaza and Lebanon, the unconditional release of all hostages, and a resolution to the ongoing conflict.

It is imperative that all parties exercise responsibility and restraint, and actively work towards de-escalating the prevailing tensions.

I have previously urged all governments and parties involved in the Middle East conflict to engage in a peace process, as peace remains the only viable solution; no one emerges victorious from war.

I seek to initiate peace talks across the entire Middle East in alignment with my Global Peace 2030 agenda.
