Madrid Spain
October 21st

In Gaza today, a humanitarian catastrophe unfolds before the world’s eyes: basic necessities such as food, potable water, shelter and medical care are being denied to civilians caught in the crossfire. The burden weighs heaviest on the elderly, children, and the sick, who bear no responsibility for political disputes. The Europe Peace Foundation calls upon all parties to immediately cease hostilities, to respect the protections guaranteed under international humanitarian law, and to open safe corridors for relief aid and medical evacuation.

Yet an enduring peace must be built on more than the silence of bombs. From Madrid on October 21st, we urge European governments, the European Union, and the international community to commit to a genuine peace process—not merely a pause in fighting. Reconstruction, political inclusivity, justice, reconciliation, and institutional support are indispensable. Let us reject violence not for a moment, but forever, and affirm our collective responsibility to transform this moment of suffering into a foundation for lasting peace.
