Statement by Mr. KC on the Situation in Yemen

Statement

11 February 2026 – I am deeply concerned by the recent violence in the southeastern Yemeni city of Ataq, which has resulted in the loss of lives and injuries to many others. Such incidents underscore the urgent need for restraint and dialogue. Violence in Ataq – or in any part of Yemen – must end immediately.

The conflict in Yemen continues to cause a severe humanitarian catastrophe. Countless families have been displaced, and the daily situation across the country is worsening. The people of Yemen can no longer endure this suffering. It is clear that peace is the only viable solution.

I call upon the government and all conflicting parties to commit to a lasting and comprehensive peace. I stand ready to support and mediate any genuine peace process aimed at ending the conflict in Yemen. The time to begin is now.

I look forward to seeing news from Yemen that reflects peace, stability, and prosperity – not violence and destruction. In line with the Global Peace 2030 agenda, which I have initiated to promote peace in Yemen and around the world, I urge all stakeholders to act responsibly and prioritize dialogue over confrontation.

Yemen deserves peace. The Yemeni people deserve a future free from fear and conflict.

– Sappan KC, President / Global Peace 2030
