Mr. Sappan KC’s Remarks on the Gaza “Board of Peace”
Statement
Friday, January 23, 2026 / The recently established Board of Peace for Gaza aims to promote stability, restore dependable and lawful governance, and secure enduring peace in regions affected by or threatened by conflict. This initiative aligns closely with my Global Peace 2030 Initiative.
For Gaza, the “Board of Peace” must mean lasting peace—a future free from suffering, fear, violence, and conflict.
Similar peace boards and mechanisms have been established in the past by various governments and countries. However, despite these efforts, meaningful solutions have not been achieved. This shows that declarations alone are not enough. What is needed now is genuine commitment and timely action.
All countries around the world must work together to end all forms of violence, conflict, and war. The people of Palestine, especially in Gaza, do not want more conflict—they want peace. They want an end to violence and a resolution to the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
I call upon all member countries that have signed on to the Board of Peace to take immediate initiative for lasting peace. This is the right time to act, not to delay.
I seek only lasting and meaningful peace, and it is for this purpose that I remain committed to the Board of Peace.
