Mr. KC’s Statement on the Violence and Abduction of Female Students in Nigeria and the Call for a Peace Process

Statement

Wednesday, November 19, 2025 – I am deeply concerned by the ongoing violence in Nigeria, particularly following the recent attack on a government girls’ boarding school in Kebbi State, where gunmen killed a teacher and abducted dozens of female students. This act is tragic and completely unacceptable. I call on the armed group responsible to immediately release all abducted students. Violence must never be tolerated within the education sector.

Northwest Nigeria has witnessed repeated abductions of schoolchildren by armed gangs, and this trend is extremely worrying. I strongly appeal to all conflicting parties and the government to recommit themselves to a genuine peace process and to respect the right of every girl and woman to education.

In line with my Global Peace 2030 Agenda, I affirm that Nigeria must move toward achieving total peace by the year 2030. I stand ready to offer my mediation and support to facilitate peace talks among all parties, with the goal of ending every form of violence and conflict in the nation.

The people of Nigeria deserve lasting peace, stability, access to quality education, healthcare, and sustainable national development. It is the duty of all leaders and stakeholders to ensure these aspirations are fulfilled.

Sappan KC, President / Global Peace 2030
