October 1, 2025: Europe Peace Foundation Calls for Urgent Humanitarian Action in Yemen
The Europe Peace Foundation expresses deep concern over Yemen’s escalating humanitarian crisis, where over 19.5 million people require urgent assistance, nearly 2 million children are malnourished, and health systems are collapsing.
This week, the European Commission announced an additional €40 million in humanitarian aid, bringing total EU support in 2025 to €120 million, to provide food, nutrition, and medical care to those most at risk.
While these efforts are essential, the Europe Peace Foundation emphasizes that sustainable peace in Yemen requires addressing the root causes of conflict, supporting local communities, and ensuring safe and unhindered humanitarian access.
As part of our Europe Peace Plan 2030, we call on governments, international partners, and civil society to increase cooperation, protect civilians, and transform emergency aid into lasting stability and peace.
Humanitarian support is not just aid—it is a vital step toward justice and security for all Yemenis.
