President Mr. KC’s Remarks on Violence in Serbia

Statement

Wednesday, April 1, 2026 – I am concerned by reports regarding recent local elections in Serbia, including allegations of irregularities, incidents of violence against political opponents, and restrictions affecting media freedom and student protests.

Reports of violent incidents in parts of the country’s towns and cities are troubling. The people of Serbia have the right to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and to ensure that the will of all voters is respected through fair and transparent elections.

It is important that the country continues on a democratic path, reflecting the aspirations of the Serbian people for freedom, peace, and stability for the nation.
