Statement by Mr. KC on the Global Immigration and Refugee Crisis
Statement
Monday, November 17, 2025- I am deeply concerned about the growing immigration and refugee crisis around the world. Millions of people are fleeing their home countries due to war, violence, and conflict, while many others are forced to migrate because of the lack of employment opportunities in their own nations.
We are also witnessing a significant number of people from developing countries migrating to developed nations, often living without proper documentation in regions such as Europe and the United States. The rising issue of irregular and illegal migration is becoming a serious global concern that requires urgent attention.
I urge the governments of developed countries to prioritize employment for their own citizens and to carefully regulate long-term foreign migration. Migration for extended periods should be minimized. Nations should instead focus on creating sustainable job opportunities within their own borders so that people are not forced to leave their homelands in search of survival.
Under my Global Peace 2030 Agenda, I also call on all countries to allow people to travel freely for short-term visits without visa restrictions. Every human being is born on this earth with the right to move freely. However, all travelers should be required to return to their home countries after completing their allowed travel period. This approach would help reduce human trafficking, irregular migration, and the refugee crisis by promoting legal, temporary travel instead of permanent relocation.
It is my Global Peace Agenda that countries should not support armed conflict but instead focus on investment and creating industries, particularly in the agricultural sector, energy, infrastructure, to provide jobs. The youth in every generation need jobs. If they have access to employment, they will not resort to other options, such as joining armed groups, which many conflict-ridden nations exploit by offering the wrong kind of opportunities. Innocent young people, in search of work, are often driven to violence because they lack economic opportunities.
If they had jobs, they would never go down the wrong path, as they would need to care for their families.
Furthermore, many countries currently operate diversity lottery visa programs that encourage people to migrate permanently. These programs should be reconsidered. Instead, governments in developing nations should focus on creating employment locally rather than sending large numbers of laborers abroad through foreign labor ministries. This approach reflects a failure of domestic policy to provide jobs for their citizens.
In addition, I call on all countries around the world not to grant nationality or citizenship to foreign individuals unless they are true victims of war who have lost everything—family, home, protection, and nationality. Citizenship should not be used to encourage mass migration. It should be offered only to those who genuinely have no other place to belong and no safe country to return to.
In conclusion, solving the global immigration and refugee crisis requires international cooperation, strong domestic job creation, responsible migration policies, and a renewed commitment to human dignity. Let us work together so people can live safely and prosperously in their own homelands-so nations can truly “call back their nation” and give their citizens a reason to stay, to grow, and to hope.
