At this moment, the world is witnessing a deepening humanitarian disaster, especially in regions like Sudan and Gaza where war, blockade, and systemic neglect threaten the lives of millions. In Sudan, decades of conflict have morphed into what United Nations agencies call the “most devastating humanitarian crisis” globally: more than 30 million people, including 16 million children, require urgent assistance. Simultaneously, in Gaza, famine has been confirmed in Gaza City and severe malnutrition is rising across the population, with nearly 470,000 people on the brink of starvation. These crises are not natural disasters — they are compounded by human decisions: blockades, restrictions on aid delivery, and ongoing violence that prevent lifesaving resources from reaching those in need.
For the Europe Peace Foundation, peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice, dignity, and solidarity. We urge governments, institutions, and citizens across Europe and beyond to act immediately: push for ceasefires, safeguard humanitarian corridors, and reallocate resources toward direct relief — while pressuring all parties to honor their obligations under international humanitarian law. We stand for nonviolent action by civil society, diplomatic channels, and grassroots solidarity networks to protect civilians, particularly children and displaced populations, from suffering. It is not enough to decry injustice — we must act, persist, and demand accountability, so that no human being is left to starve or perish in silence.
